Haiti Disaster Relief

As you all know by now, Haiti was hit last year by a devastating 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010. It's been a year, but the needs of this country are still great and they are just as much in need today as they were a year ago when the tragedy occurred. Even prior to the earthquake, Haiti ranked as one of the least developed countries in the world, and has an approximate population of 10 million, with most citizens living below $2 per day. Our ministry would like to give our community another opportunity to respond in prayer and giving as many of you did so last year.

We partnered with an amazing organization last year called One Days Wages, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be able to join with them again this time as well. 100% of your donations (minus c.c. transaction costs) will go directly to the relief and rebuilding efforts in Haiti. What we appreciate most about ODW is their transparency.

This Sunday (January 16th), we will be praying for and collecting an offering for the continued relief fund, but you may also do that online as well, right now. We especially ask that you would share this with your family, friends and co-workers as others may feel the urge to give but do not know who to give to. We know that maybe our one individual contribution might not make a difference, but collectively, we can do more together than we can ever do alone.

We ask that you would prayerfully consider donating (possibly one days wage) to the rescue and relief efforts in Haiti through ODW and that you would also ask those in your sphere of influence to consider as well. Please pray for the people of Haiti as they continue to rebuild, and pray for those who minister to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of those impacted by the the aftermath of this earthquake.
