Great marriages and families don't just happen...you have to continuously work at them! Our Married Couples Retreat is scheduled for October 15-17th (Friday-Sunday), and will be held on the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's Guest Housing facilities in Fort Worth. We believe that this will be an incredible opportunity for us to invest and build into our marriages and families.
We've provided some frequently asked questions below, which will answer some of the questions you may have concerning our Couples Retreat. Please take a look and prayerfully consider joining us for this retreat weekend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at couples@binnerriem.org. We have also provided a place for you to register online at the bottom of this page.
Will there be a retreat this year?
Yes. This year we will be having a separate retreat for married couples and families. Our combined EM retreats happen every other year, with our most recent one being this past fall, and in between we alternate with separate retreats in order to focus on specific seasons of life. This is a great opportunity to invest in our marriages and to be in an environment where we can connect and reconnect with God, our families, and with other couples and families.
When is the couples retreat and where will it be held?
It will be from Friday, October 15th to Sunday, October 17th, and it will be held on the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, which is located in Fort Worth, TX (about an hour drive from church). We will be having our retreat at The Riley Center, which is the which is the guest housing facility and conference center that is used by other churches and organizations. Each couple/family will have their very own room, which we found to be comparable, and maybe even slightly better than hotel accommodations. If you don't believe us, go and check out their guest housing website for more info. You can also click on this map link for directions.
What time will the retreat start?
Check-in will begin at 6:00pm and Orientation will begin at 7:30pm on Friday evening in the Conference Room, which is located in The Riley Center (dinner will not be provided on Friday). Also, as some of you may know, the Texas Rangers have made it into the next playoff round, and they will be having their first home game this Friday evening. This means that there will most likely be a lot of traffic around the Ball Park in Arlington. And because of this, we suggest that you avoid driving through the Arlington area (I-30) and that you plan to leave a little earlier if possible to compensate for the expected traffic.
If this retreat lasts until Sunday, what happens to Sunday worship?
We will still have our normal Sunday morning worship services at 9:45am and 11:30am on October 17th, and will be encouraging all the retreat attendees to come directly to church for the worship services on that Sunday.
So, how much will I have to pay to go to the retreat?
The registration cost is $200 per couple, or $150 per individual, and $20 per child, which covers both lodging and meals. This is an incredible bargain for a weekend away at a great venue with great teaching and fellowship.
Will childcare be provided?
Yes. Childcare will be provided for all the main worship sessions and group events in the room right next to our meeting room.
Who is the speaker for this retreat?
We've invited Pastor Jim-Bob Park, who is the Senior Pastor of Binnerri Presbyterian Church, and his wife, Hanna Park SMN, to speak at our retreat. They will be speaking from their 21 years of marriage and 20 years of parenting their 5 children. This will be an incredible opportunity not only to connect with our Senior Pastor and his wife, but also to hear some of the godly principles that they've learned from their many years of faithful marriage and parenting.
Who do I ask if I have any questions about the retreat?
We would love to address any questions you might have concerning this year's couples retreat. If you have questions or want specific information about our retreat, email us at: couples@binnerriem.org. We look forward to seeing y'all there!
