Become a Member
We believe that all believers are called to belong, not just believe. Each of us is called to be a member of the Body of Christ. When we say member, we mean it in the original sense of that word. To be a member means to be a vital organ or a part of a living body—being a hand, foot, heart, lung, etc. We encourage you to go from simply attending to committing to the Binnerri community. The difference between a member and an attender is commitment. "Attenders are spectators from the sidelines; members get involved in the ministry. Attenders are consumers; members are contributors. Attenders want the benefits of a church without sharing the responsibility. They are like couples who want to live together without committing to a marriage." (Rick Warren: Purpose Driven Life). So, the first step to doing so is to become a member.
If you have already been baptized as an adult or baptized as a child and confirmed as an adult at a different Christian church, the first step to becoming a member of Binnerri is to attend a membership class, which is offered periodically. At the membership class, you will learn about our mission, structure, ministries, sacraments, and beliefs of Binnerri. After the class, you will have a choice of becoming a member by signing a membership covenant.
If you have not been baptized as an adult or baptized as a child and confirmed as an adult, the first step to becoming a member is to attend the baptism/confirmation class.
Please look in the announcements and join us for our next membership class or if you have questions, please email us at membership@binnerriem.org.
